Harmony Massage was established by Arijana or Ari in 2014. Ari has a background in the medical field for 7 years, she has experience with all age groups and all different aspects in the medical department. She decided to combine her knowledge, experience, education, and talent and pursue her career in Massage Therapy. After she graduated in 2014 she was hired by STL Massage in Clayton, where she worked and met enough of wonderful clients who gave her the courage to open her own place, she felt "harmony". In such a short amount of time she constantly received repeat clients and many kept requesting her over and over again. As scared as she was she managed to go through the tough steps of opening up a massage business in the City of St. Louis, she did it. Harmony Wellness Center is focused on developing each team member to be client focused and to be more than just a massage person, but part of your wellness program management.

Swedish Massage

image16

Swedish massage has simply lasted the test of time thanks to the great benefits of healing touch.

The Swedish modality has one main focus: relaxation. However, through soft, long strokes and touches of effleurage, petrissage, friction and tapotement, Swedish is also therapeutically beneficial by relieving muscle tension, increasing blood flow to critical areas and breaking down scar tissue.

Medical Massage

image17

Medical Massage is massage and/or myofascial release that is directed to a specific injury or painful area.  The massage therapist will work on the fascia (connective tissue) and the muscles that they feel are contributing to the pain and dysfunction.

Trigger Point Therapy

image18

Trigger point massage therapy is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. In this type of massage for trigger point therapy, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort.

Acupressure

image19

Acupressure is a therapy developed over 5,000 years ago as an important aspect of Asian, especially Chinese, medicine. It uses precise finger placement and pressure over specific points along the body. These points follow specific channels, known as meridians – the same channels used in acupuncture.

Deep Tissue Massage

image20

Deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia. It's used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.

Lymph Drainage

image21

Lymphatic drainage massage is a form of gentle massage that encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body. The fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissues.

Hot Stones

image22

Hot Stone therapy is technically termed as Geothermal Therapy, that is the use of heated stones and chilled stones to affect a chemical release within the human body. The placing of the stones is often followed by a holistic massage, which results in a deeper and more intense treatment.

Couples Massage

image23

What Are the Benefits of a Couples Massage?

Bonding: When you get a great massage, your body releases oxytocin.

Health: Maybe you want to celebrate an anniversary or other special day.

Peace: A couples massage makes your day or evening that much more easy and convenient.

Aromatherapy

image24

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being. Sometimes it’s called essential oil therapy. Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical and emotional health.

Aromatherapy is thought of as both an art and a science. Recently, aromatherapy has gained more recognition in the fields of science and medicine.

Cupping

image25

Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy that’s based on the belief that certain health problems can be caused by stagnant blood and a poor energy flow through your body.  That increased blood flow can relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation.

Generally, cupping is used to treat chronic pain—back pain and headaches, which is often a physical manifestation of chronic stress.

Facials

image26

A facial is essentially a multi-step skin treatment that is one of the best ways to take care of your skin. A facial cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion and can help your skin look younger. You also receive advice on the best way to take care of your skin. A facial works best when it is part of an on-going program of skin care.

Massage Outcall

image27

Outcall massage is a type of massage in which a massage therapist travels to a client, rather than the other way around. Many massage therapists offer massage therapy in people's homes, hotel rooms, and businesses, among other places, bringing any necessary equipment with them to the session.

Waxing

image28

Waxing is a hair removal method which is semi-permanent in nature and removes the hair from the root. It will take around two to eight weeks for new hair to grow back. Almost all the areas of the body can be waxed such as eyebrows, face, legs, arms, back, abdomen, bikini area and feet.

Dermaplaning

image29

Dermaplaning is a short, in-office or spa procedure that’s kind of like getting your face shaved. It’s meant to exfoliate your skin and remove small, fine baby hairs (a.k.a. vellus hairs), so your face glows and feels softer.

i-Lipo

i-Lipo St Louis, Harmony Wellness Center will help you get rid of fat

The i-Lipo emits low levels of laser energy, which creates a chemical signal in the fat cells, breaking down the stored triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol and releasing them though channels in the cell membranes. The fatty acids and glycerol are then transported around the body to the tissues that will use them during metabolism to create energy. This process of fatty acid release is a natural response of the body when the body needs to used stored energy reserves, thus i-Lipo is not creating any unnatural reaction in the body nor does it affect or damage any surrounding structures such as skin, blood vessels and peripheral nerves. A period of exercise post treatment will ensure the complete metabolism and thus elimination from the body of the freed fatty acids.
